This course will explore historical and emerging concepts of leadership and building influence in the workplace. This course is built on the belief that you can provide value in any position. The course explores the concepts of the heroic leadership paradigm, positive upward influence, and contributorship.

Critical Thinking Overview

This course provides a great introduction to Critical Thinking components and tangible learning to build your critical thinking skills. The course focuses on developing problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively as a member of a team. Learners will explore the fundamentals of data literacy, generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools, decision-making, and analytics.

Cultural Intelligence Course

This course outlines cultural intelligence's motivational, knowledge-based, strategic, and action-oriented dimensions. Cultural intelligence refers to an individual’s ability to engage effectively and appropriately across international and domestic cultural boundaries. Participants will expand their knowledge of culture’s impact on communicative behavior, explore barriers to their effectiveness, and develop plans to improve their ability to engage cross-culturally.

SESSION OUTLINE

Learn the skills and qualities it takes to deliver results, even if "project manager" isn't in your title. Doing more with less is often the way of the world today, so mastering the finesse and methodology of delivering results (project management) is essential in daily living. Everyone can benefit from learning PM skills that help us communicate better, work smarter and apply the time-proven tricks of the project management trade to any work situation. This five-week program bundles the 10, half-day sessions into a Project Management Certificate series. You will meet from April 4 to May 2 on Tuesdays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with an hour break, lunch is provided.

WHAT IS THE FORMAT OF THE BW FOUNDATIONAL COURSES?

The foundational courses can be taken as an introduction to an expansive certificate series.

Classes are taught by accredited Baldwin Wallace professors.
Courses are open enrollment and not credit earning. Courses do provide Continuing Education Units for those whose careers require evidence of continuous learning.
Classes meet for a full day of learning (see individual class descriptions).
All courses take place in the fall of 2023.
Classes are held on BW’s beautiful campus, in Berea, Ohio.
Lunch breaks are provided.

All scheduled classes will be held.
Individuals who cannot attend a scheduled class can transfer their registration to a future program or another individual.
Transfers must be completed 5 business days prior to the program's start.
