The James Webb Telescope

Cameron Seidl, an engineer at the NASA Glenn Research Center will present a lecture on the James Webb Telescope on March 17 at 7:30 p.m.

The lecture is part of our Reinhold and Margaret Kader Memorial Astronomy Lecture Series.

After the lecture, the Burrell Observatory will be open for viewing, weather permitting.

The event is free, but tickets are required.

Dr. Ralph Harvey, a professor in the Department of Earth, Environmental and Planetary Science at Case Western Reserve University, will present To Protect or Swerve: NASA's Planetary Defense Initiative and Meteorite Research, a lecture on NASA's plans and initiatives to protect Earth from a major asteroid impact on January 20 at 7:30 p.m.

The lecture is part of our Reinhold and Margaret Kader Memorial Astronomy Lecture Series.

Kick off winter break with amazing hands-on math fun at our Holiday Math Mini-Camp on December 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Kindergarteners through sixth graders will enjoy holiday math-themed crafts, games, puzzles, and learning activities with brilliant and talented Baldwin Wallace University faculty and student mathematicians!

Drop off your kids at the Knowlton Center to get holiday errands and shopping done and we’ll have a blast! In addition, kids will have math takeaways sure to snowball into many more hours of fun to stay engaged with math over holiday break!

CrossFit for your Mind

April 6 | 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. | Center for Innovation & Growth (CIG)

During the 90-minute problem-solving workshop, Dr. Edwin Meyer, an associate professor of physics at Baldwin Wallace, and Meridith Witt, assistant professor of physics at Baldwin Wallace, led participants through new and challenging workouts for the brain as they worked on problems designed to improve mental focus and fitness. The evening helped everyone become more creative, clever, and confident. Ideal for families with children in grades K and up.

BW Tech Camp: Cybersecurity

April 13 | 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. | Knowlton Center

In this camp, students will learn applied skills in cybersecurity using a Raspberry Pi! Students will learn how to create secret messages and encrypt and decrypt those messages. They will learn how to create a secure system and how to find out what may be lurking on their network. With cybersecurity becoming one of the top career fields, this is a camp you will not want to miss! For grades 7-12.

Summer Math Camp Session A

June 12-16 | Grades 9-12

Students will be introduced to a variety of mathematical concepts aimed at encouraging exploration, as well as kindling a joy for future mathematical and academic pursuits. Our program provides numerous opportunities to explore math concepts in a fun and supportive environment.

Hands-On Math Camp

June 19-23 | Grades 6-8

All levels of learners will move through high-energy, math-related activities, choose their own adventures, and develop friendships with other curious students! 

Collaborative Problem Solving

June 26-29 | Grades 6-12

Students will be challenged with puzzles, games and activities that will improve critical-thinking skills in logic, geometric reasoning, operations research, and pattern recognition. 

NASA Astro Camp®

July 17-21 | Grades 3-8

NASA Astro Camp® consists of student-centered, standards-based STEM activities that utilize NASA resources for engaging, high-quality STEM learning experiences for all students. This includes developing life-changing goals through Next Generation Science, Math, and Technology/Engineering skills using NASA Real World Mission Challenges.

Hands-On Math Camp

July 24-28 | Grades 2-5

All levels of learners will enjoy encountering mathematical concepts with games, art, and movement. No quizzes, worksheets, or tests!  Our goal is to stimulate curiosity, excitement and joy for math. Students will move through high-energy activities, choose their own adventures, and develop friendships with other curious students!  

InfraGuard Cyber Camp

July 24-28 | Grades 9-12

The InfraGard Cyber Camp engages students’ technical skills and aptitudes for information technology and security. The camp is designed to be a launchpad for students to identify an interest in a future career path in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or Cybersecurity. Residential and commuter option available.

Youth Cyber Camp

August 1-3 | Grades 6-8

Students will learn the various aspects of cybersecurity through activities and lessons. Upon completing this camp, students will have a foundational skill set in cybersecurity, making them aware of ways to keep safe while online.
